Greg Bennett's Rambling Thought on Successful Selling #79: Publish Yourself
This is a bit of an extension from an earlier Ramble on technology, but talking more about getting "published".
As most of you know I was fortunate enough to get a book published by a major publisher in 2006. It took a ton of patience, persistence, hard work, etc...and I would highly recommend doing it if you're given the opportunity. BUT, you shouldn't wait for a book deal to come your way before you start publishing your thoughts, ideas, and concepts in some form or fashion.
The explosion of the internet into our lives has opened a world of opportunities to publish yourself in some form or fashion...and in ways that are much more dynamic and interesting than a boring old printed newsletter.
Why not start a blog? Use Twitter? Write an e-zine and send it out each month? It's all available to you for next to no investment!
So what do you push out to your clients and prospects? Along with your thoughts, your views on the world, your observations, etc...think of things that add value to your network, NOT JUST MORE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR INDUSTRY.
It's like we talked about with networking...how can you add value to people in your network?
Publish or die!!
